STEGI.RADIO: Live From The Park
Onassis Stegi’s powerhouse web radio station, STEGI.RADIO, returns to Pedion tou Areos to turn Athens’ largest public park into the city's ultimate summer block party. Running for over two weeks in June, this entirely free music festival brings together more than 60 local and international DJs, selectors, and live acts across a sprawling sonic landscape. This year, the festival steps onto the international stage with a massive, first-ever broadcasting partnership alongside two of the planet's most influential independent web stations: Brussels' Kiosk Radio and New York's The Lot Radio.
Kicking off daily at 7 pm at the park's Aliki Theater, every single evening promises a completely fresh and unpredictable mixture of styles. The festival's opening days set a dynamic tone, blending everything from the dub fusions of Lefto Early Bird to rare Ghanaian hiplife and boogie from Awesome Tapes from Africa. As the weekdays progress, the programming shifts effortlessly from dark dream pop and ambient soundscapes to leftfield electronic experiments curated by the TMLab team, and even a dedicated retro vinyl night spinning Arabic disco and funk with the Beirut Groove Collective.
A major centerpiece of the festival is the weekend of June 20–21, which is entirely dedicated to "African Voices." Saturday's programming starts slightly earlier at 5.30 pm with a kids' workshop, leading into vital community panel discussions and rare, high-energy live sets, including a performance by Tanzanian singeli pioneers Sisso & Maiko. The festival reaches its grand finale during the final weekend, when international residents from The Lot Radio and Kiosk Radio take over the booth to dish out a heavy-hitting mix of percussive club, avant-garde jazz, and global bass music alongside local favorites.
