Steve Gunn live at Ilion Plus

Steve Gunn returns to Athens for a spring live show at Ilion Plus, bringing his fluid blend of indie folk, psychedelic rock, and American primitive guitar to an intimate setting. For more than fifteen years, Gunn has been shaping a distinctive sound that bridges tradition and experimentation, drawing on influences from John Fahey and Robbie Basho to Michael Chapman, while remaining deeply rooted in contemporary songwriting.

His live performances unfold like slow journeys through wide, tactile landscapes, guided by intricate guitar work and a quietly emotional presence. This Athens date follows the release of Daylight Daylight, his seventh studio album and first solo record in four years, released on No Quarter. The album continues his exploration of tone, atmosphere, and restraint, confirming an artist still evolving with clarity and intent.

Opening the night are 33 Lovers, the project of Stratos Kiris, who will present songs from Ghost Flower and the recent Am I In A Dream in a specially adapted acoustic set, joined by Lambrini Grigoriadou. Their lo-fi, indie pop sensibility sets a fitting tone for the evening.
