A 158,000sqm park and home to more than 7,000 trees and 40,000 shrubbery, along with hundreds of species of birds, fish, and turtles. The garden’s plant nursery is said to be the first greenhouse in modern Greece. Saplings grow there, then are replanted in the park. In total, the garden houses 519 plant species, of which 100 are native to Greece, while the rest come from all over the world. Works for its sustainable regeneration began in 2022 and will deliver a wholly renovated park in sections, so that the garden remains accessible at all stages during its redevelopment.
