Stephen Antonakos: Vectors of Time and Space
Celebrate 100 years of artistic innovation with Stephen Antonakos: Vectors of Time and Space at the B&M Theocharakis Foundation from 18 March to 28 June 2026. This exhibition honours the renowned Greek-American artist, Stephen Antonakos, and his groundbreaking contributions to abstract sculpture, particularly his pioneering use of neon. His work spans a diverse range of media including drawing, painting, printmaking, installations, books, and architectural models, with a distinct focus on the interplay of light, colour, and form.
The exhibition highlights Antonakos' artistic journey from 1972 to 2012, offering insight into his exploration of time and space. With over 60 works on display, including pieces by Christo, Kazimir Malevich, Lucio Fontana, and more, the exhibition places Antonakos' art in conversation with influential movements such as Constructivism, Minimalism, and Geometric Abstraction. Curated by Sara Reisman, the show invites visitors to dive deeper into the legacy of this visionary artist and his enduring impact on contemporary art.
