Release Athens Festival x SNF Nostos 2026: Gorillaz, The Flaming Lips and Jehnny Beth

As part of the week-long SNF Nostos 2026 (21 to 28 June), music takes centre stage with two major open air concerts under the stars, David Byrne and Gorillaz, with more acts still to be announced.

This will be the first time Gorillaz perform live in Greece, and they are doing it in one of Athens’ most atmospheric venues, right by the sea at Water Plaza. The creation of Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz have rewritten the rules of what a band can be.

Part live spectacle, part animated dream, always backed by an unforgettable soundtrack, from Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc. to DARE and On Melancholy Hill.

With a list of collaborators that reads like a hall of fame including Elton John, De La Soul, Slowthai, Stevie Nicks and a sound that blends alternative rock, hip hop and future pop, Gorillaz are set to light up the sky.

Joining Gorillaz on this long-awaited Athens debut are two powerhouse names. The Flaming Lips, the legendary alternative rock band from Oklahoma, bring their kaleidoscopic sound and fearless creativity to the stage, with a career spanning over four decades and landmark albums like The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. 
Alongside them, Jehnny Beth, the electrifying former frontwoman of Savages, adds her bold and multifaceted artistry. Known for her acclaimed solo work and collaborations with acts such as Idles and Depeche Mode, Beth’s presence promises intensity and emotional depth.

Together, they set the tone for an unforgettable night before Gorillaz light up the Water Plaza.
