Jazz at the Museum: Myrto Papatanasiu
Athens' much-loved Jazz at the Museum series returns for its sixth season at the stunning auditorium of the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation. This year, the series expands its horizons with a bold new theme: “Her Voice”, celebrating powerful female artistry across jazz, classical, and lyrical traditions.
The season opens on October 24 with internationally acclaimed Greek soprano Myrto Papatanasiu, in a spellbinding performance titled Respiro e Sospiro (Breath and Sigh). Accompanied by pianist Dimitris Yakas, Papatanasiu guides us through a journey of arias and art songs from the Italian and French repertoire, where every breath becomes music and every sigh tells a story.
Expect a night of emotional depth and theatrical nuance, where voice and piano weave an intimate dialogue of light and shadow, silence and sound.
