Kicking off its new season programme Onassis Stegi presents The House, A requiem for humanity a confrontational performance created by Dimitris Karantzas. You might remember Karantzas from his staging of the sensational play Rob in 2018, written by renowned screenwriter and Lanthimos collaborator Efthimis Filippou. With his new work Karantzas invites us to a relatable everyday reality. The performance revolves around two characters who go about their daily routines, doing household chores, shopping, paying bills, and keeping their apartment tidy. The only connection they have to the outside world is a window. However, this seemingly ordinary window reveals increasingly disturbing images, hinting at a darker reality beyond their repetitive days. Relatable indeed.
