Christmas Concerts 2025

This holiday season, the City of Athens is weaving the threads of Christmas cheer together with all of us, as a citywide celebration unfolds across the city. Iconic squares and landmarks glow with energy-saving lights, while neighbourhood corners join the festive buzz. Expect a full line-up of free events for every age and taste, from Christmas-themed concerts and outdoor film nights to children’s workshops and much more.

Festive melodies from the City of Athens Philharmonic Orchestra drift through Varvakeios Market, Ermou, Voukourestiou and Kotzia Square, while the AI Christmas Orchestra turns local parks and piazzas into immersive sound-and-light experiences. From Fokionos Negri and Kypseli Market to Korai and Agia Irini squares, live bands, choirs, DJ sets, street parties and the Christmas Book Fest keep the city buzzing.

Wherever you wander, Athens wraps you in a bright, joyful and unmistakably festive atmosphere.

AI Christmas Orchestra in the Neighbourhoods of Athens!

5 pm - 9 pm : The AI Christmas Orchestra, an innovative creation of the Athens Digital Arts Festival, brings festive magic to life by blending musical artistry with artificial intelligence. Guest musicians perform beloved Christmas tunes, while a unique real-time AI engine responds and enriches their performance, forming a digital orchestra that plays along with them.
Expect an enchanting atmosphere full of sound, light and emotion that entagles you and makes you part of the orchestra!

19/12 , 7 pm :  Christmas Concert by the City of Athens Choir,  Cathedral & Metropolitan Church of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, A special Christmas concert marking the choir’s 25th anniversary.
20/12 , 12 pm : Radio Station 92.3 Lampsi – Live Broadcast in Festive Mood, Korai Square, Popular artists drop by for live chats and to share Christmas wishes with visitors and listeners.
20/12 , 6 pm : The Dancemasters by Michalis Tsousopoulos, Korai Square, Athens’ biggest party comes to life with 95.2 Athens DeeJay and Star Deejay Michalis Tsousopoulos.
20/12 , 7 pm : “Smells Like Christmas” – Festive Celebration, Creative Learning Centre, Alexandras Ave. Carols, songs, traditions and dances from across Greece, featuring the adult traditional dance groups of the Centre. Info: 210 6448844 (Mon–Fri, 1 pm– 7 pm).

27/12 : Pre–New Year’s Eve Party, Agia Irini Square,  Top DJs and radio hosts take over the decks for an all-day celebration.

24/12 , 12 pm : DJ Set by “Athina 984” – Kotzia Square, The city’s radio station fills Kotzia Square with Christmas vibes, featuring a special DJ set by Nikos Lymperopoulos inside the City of Athens’ festive village.
27 – 30/12 , 12 pm - 8 pm : Christmas Book Fest, Kypseli Municipal Market, The Christmas Book Fest returns! On the opening day, Fourfouri Publishers and Athina 9.84 producers present a live festive programme with the City of Athens Philharmonic Orchestra. The following days are packed with surprises, workshops and activities for all ages.
28/12 , 6 pm : Salina Gavala – Christmas Edition, “Anna & Maria Kalouta” Cultural Centre, Salina Gavala invites you to a warm, sparkling Christmas live show featuring classic Christmas songs, surprise covers and favourites from her own repertoire. A night full of light, emotion and festive spirit.
30/12 , 8.30 pm : A Happy New Year – Big Band | Penny Baltatzi & Philipp Weiss, Olympia City of Athens Music Theatre “Maria Callas”, The City of Athens Big Band’s much-loved pre-New Year concert welcomes two exceptional artists, Penny Baltatzi and Philipp Weiss.
