Athens Photo World 2026

Athens Photo World, the city’s leading international photojournalism festival, returns for its eighth edition, bringing powerful visual storytelling to the heart of Athens. From January to August 2026, the festival unfolds across some of Athens’ most iconic public spaces showcasing contemporary photojournalism through exhibitions, talks, screenings and live events. Since its launch in 2019, Athens Photo World has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors, establishing itself as a key cultural platform that connects the city with global visual narratives.

With expanded collaborations and an ever-growing international profile, Athens Photo World 2026 reinforces Athens’ position as a dynamic meeting point for contemporary photography, journalism and public dialogue. The 2026 programme includes the Athens Photo World Awards, a two-day programme of digital screenings at Technopolis (28 February–1 March), a photography masterclass led by Magnum photographer Enri Canaj, and major open-air exhibitions at the National Garden and the Athens Concert Hall, scheduled for summer, with further details to be announced closer to the dates. Extending its international reach, Athens Photo World will also present a dedicated group exhibition at XPOSURE International Photography Festival in Sharjah, where Athens will be honoured as a featured city.
