AFEA Congress at the ICCA Mediterranean Chapter Annual Meeting 2025: Inspiration, Collaboration, and the Power of Human Connection

AFEA Congress attended the ICCA Mediterranean Chapter Annual Meeting 2025, held from 9 to 11 July 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia. As proud members of ICCAWorld, we were honored to take part in this exceptional gathering of industry professionals shaping the future of meetings across the Mediterranean region.

Representing our team were Sissi Lignou, our CEO and newly appointed President of IAPCO, and Lamprini Nikolidaki, Project Manager—both returning with fresh ideas, valuable connections, and renewed energy.

Adding to the impact of our presence, Sissi Lignou took part in a thought‑provoking panel discussion titled “Beyond the Bid Book: How Association Meetings Transform Society and Elevate Knowledge‑Driven Destinations.” In her role as IAPCO President, she highlighted the essential role of Professional Congress Organizers (PCOs) in delivering purpose‑driven, high‑impact events that advance knowledge and drive meaningful change for destinations worldwide.

The meeting in Belgrade delivered more than expert insights. The engaging discussions, collaborative spirit, and the unparalleled Serbian hospitality underscored the central importance of human connection in our industry.

We extend our congratulations to Dimitris Ganitis and Kristina Milinčić for curating such an interactive and multidimensional programme. A special thank‑you also goes to Efi Koudeli for the fruitful collaboration. Lastly, our heartfelt appreciation to Sava Centar for the warm welcome and outstanding hospitality.

The ICCA Mediterranean Chapter Annual Meeting 2025 left us inspired and more committed than ever to fostering collaboration and driving meaningful impact across the global business events landscape.
