Athens Welcomes the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology Congress

Athens hosted the 57th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology (ESPN), which took place from 15-18 October at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre. The event brought together more than 1,500 specialists in paediatric nephrology from around the world for a full programme of scientific exchange and professional development.

The decision to host the ESPN congress in Athens underscores the city's position as a premier European hub for health science events. This is a sector where Athens has demonstrated considerable strength, a fact confirmed by the most recent International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) report. In the 2024 rankings, Athens was placed 6th globally for medical science meetings, hosting 30 such events.

This outstanding result, which complements the city’s overall ranking in the global top 10, highlights the trust that the international scientific community places in our city's infrastructure and services.
