TiACF25: Friday at the Square with the Embassies of Georgia, Hungary, and Serbia
This is Athens City Festival returns this May — bigger, bolder, and bursting into more neighbourhoods than ever before. From 1 May to 1 June, over 200 free events will take over parks, squares, rooftops and hidden corners across the capital, inviting locals and visitors alike to explore a different side of the city. Scroll down for a curated selection of this year’s events — or head to the official festival site to see the full programme.
Join the Embassies of Hungary, Serbia and Georgia for a free Balkan Feast, a lively evening of food, music and dance in downtown Athens. Klafthmonos Square will be buzzing with flavour and rhythm as the three countries come together to share their culture — and their cuisines!
Expect hearty gulyás, buttery pogácsa and chimney cakes, alongside drinks to match. It’s a great chance to try something new (or go back for seconds of your favourites). Don’t miss the highlight of the night at 7:30 pm, when the EL.K.E.LA.M. folk troupe takes the stage with a burst of high-energy traditional Hungarian dances — colourful costumes and whirling steps included!
* Most events are free entrance and require no tickets, to the exception of some that have a priced ticket, or require pre-registration, or are invitation-only. All related information to each of the festival's events can be found on the festival's website, under the page for each event.
