Athens may not be the most ideal place to run, but trust us when we say, it’s one of the most intriguing ones. The SNF Run, a crowd-favourite since its first event back in 2015, is back in full sprint - or leisure jog. The popular summer evening race starts from the Panathenaic Stadium and sets the finishing line at the SNFCC. There are three two routes you can choose from: the shorter 6km down Syngrou Avenue heading straight for the cultural centre, or the 10km that takes you through some great city landmarks such as the National Gallery, The Athens Concert Hall, the National Garden, the Benaki Museum, Syntagma Square and more. A 1km course for Special Olympic Athletes kicks off shortly after on the same evening, from Kallimarmaro as well. It’s a non-competitive event and everyone’s invited to join. Also, there’s a reggae-party at the finish line, so save some strength for it.
As part of the charitable mission of the SNF Nostos Run, runners are invited to contribute a minimum of €5 to support Polyphonica and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ioannites.
