The Reverb Festival

Does Athens do techno? It sure does! The city has a long history of underground clubs, party crews and record labels that have been keeping techno alive since its birth in the ‘80s. It was in 2002 when Modular Expansion, Greece’s oldest techno-oriented record label, established its Reverb Sessions, a party series featuring guest DJs from all over the world, with legends such as Alexander Kowalski, Funk D Void, Darren Price, DJ Rolando and Underground Resistance taking over the decks.

This season, it seems that the sessions are manifesting into a festival, as the Reverb Festival has been announced to take place at the Kypseli Municipal Market. Local producers and DJs George Apergis (aka EMEX, Modular Expansion’s founder and owner), MR.M, FRO, Lockbird, Liquid Gender, Nikos Thanos, Rlct and Halcyon Days will throw down a multifaceted mix of house, techno, electro, disco and freestyle sounds at the market’s space and the Fokionos Negri pedestrian street.
