Onassis Discussions: Slavoj Žižek in conversation with Afroditi Panagiotakou
Love him or hate him, Slavoj Žižek is never boring. The Slovenian philosopher and commentator comes to Athens for a no-holds-barred conversation with Afroditi Panagiotakou, the Onassis Foundation’s Director of Culture, tackling the cultural and political messes defining our everyday reality.
Žižek has spent decades pulling apart modern hypocrisies by mixing heavyweight political critique with dirty jokes, cinema plots, and pop culture references. Together, they will dive into the real fears around artificial intelligence, the cracks in liberal politics, and why it often feels easier to imagine the end of the world than a functional future. Panagiotakou knows how to keep him on his toes, ensuring the evening stays grounded in lively, direct debate rather than turning into an abstract lecture.
