NEON City Project | Alexandros Tzannis
Athens Dies In Dreams At Sunrise is a new site-specific installation by Alexandros Tzannis for the Neon City Project, curated by Galini Noti. Set within the Old Quarry on Philopappos Hill, the Western Acropolis Hill, it is a work that activates one of Athens’ most where contemporary art is framed by ancient remnants and stone and sweeping city views.
Since 2014, the NEON City Project has invited a Greek artist each year to create a temporary public work that reimagines a significant urban site. Tzannis’s installation continues this mission, offering a reflective encounter with the city’s natural and historical terrain. Access is on foot only and you are advised to wear flat, comfortable shoes.
The project is realised in collaboration with Green Athens | National Garden – Acropolis Hills, a City entity responsible for the care and preservation of the National Garden and the Western Acropolis Hills.
