You'd think that Max Richter had already performed at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. We mean, listening to his contemporary neo-classical masterpieces beneath the timeless marbles of the Parthenon should be a given, right? Wrong. But it's an unfortunate wrong that the Athens Epidaurus Festival will remedy this summer. The award-winning composer will make his debut at the Herodion to perform two of his earlier - and most celebrated - albums: 2004's The Blue Notebooks and 2010's Infra. We are talking about a guaranteed sold-out performance, so make haste.
