Laurie Anderson Live at the Acropolis
"A multimedia assault of loops, and text, and voice, and images." Even if we tried (and we did), we couldn't come up with a more bang-on description of Laurie Anderson's performances, than this one by Iggy Pop himself. The legendary performer, poet, singer, activist and musician - a living totem to all things elusive and unconventional - is coming to Athens for a single performance beneath the Acropolis, at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
Attending a Laurie Anderson show is more than watching one of the greatest avant-garde artists at work. It's spending time with Andy Warhol, William Burroughs, Philip Glass, Lou Reed, Allen Ginsberg, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Jean Michel-Jarre and the rest of the men this great woman shaped. Two weeks before Anderson takes the stage, another protest priestess will grace Herodion. What a summer this will be.
