Jean-Michel Basquiat: Untitled
Set in the vibrant Piraeus artistic hub, The Intermission gallery—housed in a former industrial car shop—presents, in collaboration with Galerie Enrico Navarra, Jean-Michel Basquiat: Untitled, the first-ever exhibition of the renowned artist’s work in Greece. Inspired by Basquiat’s 1983 piece "Untitled", the show brings his bold, genre-defying approach into the gallery’s white cube space. A self-taught artist and central figure in New York’s 1980s art scene, Basquiat blended pop culture and political commentary to create a vivid, symbolic language. His raw, striking works reflect urban experiences and explore race, history, youth culture, and iconography. Featuring a curated selection of early works, this exhibition offers a unique chance to engage with Basquiat’s rebellious genius and creative legacy.
