Half Note Jazz Nights 2024

Looking to jazz up your nights in Athens? Half Note, the city’s most classic jazz haunt in the neighbourhood of Mets, is back for another winter season. Don your smart casual attire, book your table, and sip on today’s moonshine to the soundtrack of some pretty great jazz acts that will be performing throughout the following month: 

• Aris Papadopoulos Trio: a new aesthetic approach to the Jazz piano which  incorporates classical and contemporary combined with elements from free improvisation. (07/02)
• Thanos Stavridis Quartet “Travelling the Balkans…”: one of the most recognised accordion players, a pioneer of the Greek-Balkan scene, returns to the Half Note stage after a successful tour of the Balkans. (8-10/02)
• Curtis Lundy Quartet: the world renowned double bass player, composer, producer and arranger joined by the tenor saxophonist Craig Handy will offer four nights of top-notch jazz. (09-12/02)
• Andreas Polyzogopoulos Trio: an homage to the delicate music of Chet Baker by dissing the drums—much like Baker did during the final decade of his career. (14/02)
• Blues Cargo with Michael Dotson: a high energy Chicago-style house-rockin’ blues night. (15/02)
• Stavros Lantsias Quartet: a journey in the musical universe of legendary composer, Ennio Morricone, through the music of beloved films such as Cinema Paradiso, Once Upon a Time in the West and more. (16-18/02)
• Miranda Verouli Quintet: a tribute to the great Astrud Gilberto, the woman who introduced the world to bossa nova during the ‘60s. (28/02)
