everynight
Currently unfolding across Athens, everynight is a city-wide programme of moving image works that explores the language of dreams through contemporary art. Short, dream-inspired films appear unexpectedly in everyday cultural settings, inviting viewers into brief moments of reflection, imagination and quiet disorientation within the urban night.
Thirteen contemporary artists from across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States contribute moving image works rooted in personal or imagined dream experiences. Throughout December, these films have been presented as subtle interventions before scheduled screenings in selected Athenian cinemas, gently reshaping the act of watching a film. The programme expanded with a two-day exhibition of moving image, music, poetry and site-responsive interventions at the abandoned Alphaville cinema, and now continues into January with its final chapter. everynight concludes with Last Movies, a lecture-performance by artist and filmmaker Stanley Schtinter at the Hellenic Film Archive, reflecting on cinema, memory and disappearance.
