Comicdom CON Athens 2026: The 20th Anniversary Edition

Technopolis City of Athens, transforms into a sprawling, multi-stage celebration of pop culture as the city’s longest-running international comics festival hits its 20-year milestone. You can expect a historic weekend that effectively takes over the industrial heart of Gazi, bringing together global icons and the very best of the Greek scene. This anniversary edition is particularly significant, marking three decades of the Comicdom community and two decades of its flagship convention, while sticking firmly to its tradition of being completely free for everyone to attend.

At the heart of the action is the Artists Alley, where over 200 creators present their latest work (with a strict policy that protects human artistry by banning A.I. generated content). You’ll have the opportunity to meet legendary special guest David Lloyd, the co-creator of the seminal V for Vendetta, and this year’s honoured artist, Antonis Vavagiannis, whose Kourafelkithra strips have become a local comedy phenomenon. From retrospective exhibitions tracing the evolution of fanzines to a gritty visual exploration of the song "Apartment Buildings" by the rapper LEX, the festival offers a deep dive into how comics reflect the world around us.

The schedule is packed with more than just panels. You can witness the high-stakes Comicdom Cosplay competition, catch the Greek premiere of a documentary on the "Maestro" Milo Manara, or take part in the Yu-Gi-Oh! National Qualifiers. With a massive bazaar featuring over 60 publishers and a dedicated programme for kids, it is a quintessential Athenian festival that bridges the gap between underground fanzines and global pop culture.
