The Wall Of Sound comes to Athens for the first time. What in the world is that, you might ask. If you're wondering, then you might wanna start hanging out with a younger crowd. Wall of Sound is the brainchild of DSV1, the stage name of American DJ and techno producer Zak Khutoretsky who is one of the most prominent voices amongst those that seek to preserve club culture. With his sonic project he pays tribute to the sound system culture of the 1990s raves that took place around the US Midwest, where he grew up. Imagine a huge wall of speakers that takes centre stage, purposely overshadowing the DJs and followed by a dazzling light show. Even better, listen to DVS1 as he explains the effect his project has on the audience.
This is considered an unparalleled immersive experience for all electronic music lovers and it comes with a strong line-up: DVS1, Rrose, Volvox, Rene Wise, and A.METZ x CIRKLE. And, for those who want to keep things pure and oldschool, we’ve got great news. This is a no-photo and no-video night, so leave your cellphones at home. The event takes place at EON, the city’s newest industrial space at the area of Egaleo, where ADD Festival, Athens’ biggest music festival dedicated to electronic music, will take place in May.
