More than 120 events are taking place this holiday season all over Athens—all of them are free, of course. The city will light up as never before with more than 30 city squares, main roads, neighbourhoods and landmarks are festively transformed. As for the Athenian sky, you get to light up yourselves by joining the Night of Wishes. On Christmas Eve everyone is invited at Kotzia Square, in front of the Town Hall, to admire the light and audiovisual installations by the Athens Digital Arts Festival—who are also decorating the Acropolis promenade—and to release their wishes to the sky inside the traditional paper lanterns.
