If you want to experience the energy of the city's hip hop community, head down to Pireos Street this July. Golden-era rap royalty is coming to Athens as the legendary US artist Redman takes the stage at Floyd. Known for his raw delivery, sharp humour, and explosive live performances, the Def Jam icon will be tearing through a heavy-hitting set packed with solo classics and anthems from his famous collaborations with Method Man, including the club staple Da Rockwilder.
The night kicks off with solid local support from Athenian hip hop mainstays Sadomas and Sifu Versus, setting the mood before the Funk Doc takes over. It is a massive fixture for the city's rap fans and the perfect excuse to experience a loud, high-octane night out at one of the capital's premier modern music venues.
