Landmarks of Connection
How do we connect with the cities we live in—or pass through? What makes a public space more than just a backdrop? From 1 to 20 July, the Former Public Tobacco Factory in Kolonos plays host to Landmarks of Connection, a free photography exhibition by LAMDA Development that invites us to see Athens with fresh eyes.
Seven acclaimed Greek photographers—including names like Efi Gousi, Yiorgis Yerolymbos and Ria Mort—present a collection of 70 large-scale works that explore the emotional and social life of city spaces. Their images trace human presence in the built environment through themes like “Light and Vision”, “Nature and Humanity”, “Emotion and Inspiration”. This is not a celebration of architecture as surface—it's about how cities hold memory, possibility, and experience.
Curated by journalist and editor Fotis Tsimelas, the show draws from the new photo book LAMDA Development Universe, which documents the company’s urban interventions and its evolving take on what “quality of city life” might mean.
The setting itself is worth the visit: one of Athens’ most distinguishing industrial landmarks, reactivated in recent years as a cultural space thanks to NEON and the Hellenic Parliament. Entry is free.
