Release Athens Festival 2026: Helloween, Saxon & Ashes of Ares
It’s shaping up to be a hell of a night for European metal fans as Helloween headline Release Athens 2026 with Saxon. Fresh from their epic 2023 set on the same stage, the German power-metal pioneers return to deliver all their greatest hits, joined by heavy-hitters Saxon and the rising duo Ashes of Ares.
Helloween, one of the defining bands of the ’80s metal boom, celebrated their 40th anniversary last year with a follow-up album that proves they’re still at the top of their game. Saxon, now also in their fourth decade, remain unstoppable, with eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s and 2024’s Hell, Fire and Damnation voted a Top 10 metal album by Metal Hammer readers.
