Summer Plisskën 2021
Plisskën Festival is back for another one of its genre-bending editions. Lo-fi meets Italo-disco American band, Chromatics, have been announced as one of the headline acts. What does the above description of their sound actually means, you ask? It's what the soundtrack of Drive would sound like if the songs had lyrics and was played live by a band with a lead singer in a noir setting. Electronic music pioneers Orbital are headlining the second day; the Hartnoll brothers are legends of the game, having influenced the sound and DJing style of countless producers and electronic acts.
Update 1: Fellow Irishmen Bicep will be bringing their coveted live show in Athens for the first time. Space disco maniac Todd Terje has also been announced.
Update 2: Festival's line-up start forming with Desire (Chromatics' sister band of sorts), South African queer duo FAKA, block party collective from Kinshasa Kokoko! and South Korea's up-and-coming Park Hye Jin.
Update 3: Summer Plisskën 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19. New dates for the festival's 2021 edition have been announced, with Chromatics & Desire on board.
