What is the format of Travel Trade Athens?

Travel Trade Athens has a comprehensive programme that taps into all the important aspects of the promotion of the travel trade and MICE sectors for Athens & Greece:

  1. B2B meetings: A 2-day workshop of prescheduled appointments acts as a platform for developing business relations and opportunities between foreign and Greek tourism professionals and markets.
  2. Tours & Site inspections: The event includes exclusively designed thematic experiential tours in the city of Athens and the greater Attica region.
    Based on their field, buyers can select  from thematic tours and site inspections that o­ffer a first-hand view of the unique experiences and high-quality infrastructure available.
  3. Social events: For all participants, the coffee breaks, a networking lunch and the farewell dinner provide one more chance to interact in  a relaxed and fun atmosphere. 
    Buyers will also enjoy aa welcome cocktail and an additional dinner.

What is the registration process?

Delegates are advised to register in advance as walk-in registrations are not permitted. 

The first step is for delegates to express their interest in participating by filling in an official form. If you are a hosted buyer, you may find the form under this page while suppliers can fill in their form here

Please note that all applications for suppliers and buyers are to be reviewed by the Organizer. You should receive a response within two weeks of submitting your expression of interest. 

There will be a a participation limit of 200-220 suppliers at this year’s event.

How does the appointment process work?
  1. Appointment requests
    All applicants whose requests have been approved will receive a notification to make a selection of theTop 10 companies they would like to meet, in order of preference. Buyers and suppliers will have access to the full list of participating delegates; to include a short company profile, services and operation field, in order for you to prioritise your selection.  
  2. Appointment assignments
    Each participant’s appointment schedule will be guaranteed to include at least 5 of their top 10 meeting choices. The remaining appointments are personalized according to all participants’ preferences and fields of expertise, based on the answers provided in the registration forms. 
  3. Provisional appointments
    Participants receive a provisional list of appointments via email in the week prior to Travel Trade Athens. Their appointment schedule will also be available on the Travel Trade Athens app.
  4. Final appointments
    A final schedule of appointments will be sent to all participants twodays before the event. A copy of their schedule, with full contact details, will also be provided upon registration at Travel Trade Athens.

Buyers are expected to have 31 appointments while suppliers are guaranteed to have at least 14 appointments. Appointments will be  a duration of 14 minutes each.

As it might not be possible to accommodate all appointment requests, we guaranteethat there will be plenty of additional  networking opportunities, including free meeting slots, lunch and coffee breaks, as well as the farewell dinner to connect with your buyers/suppliers of choice. 

What tours and social events are included?

Thematic tours & Site inspections

Over the 2 days of Travel Trade Athens, hosted buyers are offered the opportunity to attend 2 tours of their preference based on their field of expertise.

Buyers are requested to select among the available tours at least one week prior to the event. 

Especially for MICE buyers, Travel Trade Athens offers an exclusive tour of  the city's most important meetings infrastructure, as well as a leisure tour.

Social events:

Hosted buyers have access to all social events of Travel Trade Athens which include:

  • Welcome Cocktail 
  • Coffee breaks and lunches
  • Farewell Dinner

Suppliers are offered the opportunity to further connect with the event’s participants over the coffee breaks in-between the B2B appointments and a networking lunch on the first day of the event. Suppliers are also invited to attend the farewell dinner upon RSVP.
