Narratologies and TUI Debut Gamified Lindos, Rhodes Tour

Narratologies recently partnered with TUI to launch an innovative interactive experience at Lindos, Rhodes. This immersive, phygital game seamlessly blends heritage, technology, and sustainable tourism, captivating participants. The TUI launch event 2025 highlighted our shared mission to create more meaningful, accessible and family friendly experiences, demonstrating the power of immersive storytelling to engage travellers and support local communities.

Reviving History & Myths Through Immersive Gameplay

Set against the impressive backdrop of Lindos' Acropolis and alleyways, our game transformed exploration into an engaging storytelling adventure, drawing from the myths and legends surrounding the Colossus of Rhodes—one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Using mobile technology and physical props, players solved riddles, uncovered local monuments, and completed challenges that highlighted Lindos' beauty and the potential of technology to deepen cultural engagement.
This innovative approach demonstrated how oral history, and myths can be preserved and celebrated through immersive digital formats, creating a memorable and educational experience. The positive feedback received from players underscored the effectiveness of this approach in making history come alive. 

Innovating for a Greener Future in Tourism

Our collaboration with TUI reflects a shared commitment to sustainable, experience-driven travel. A focus on responsible tourism practices was central to the development of the experience, ensuring minimal environmental impact and maximum benefit to the local community. As a result, our experience was included in the ‘Green and Fair Experiences’ category, in alignment with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria, as reflected in our Lindos Treasure Hunt listing.
This initiative served as a model for future partnerships centered on sustainability. The game’s design intentionally incorporated elements that promote responsible behavior and environmental awareness.
 

Empowering Local Businesses and Communities

A key objective was to strengthen the local experience economy. Through our interactive game, participants discovered businesses like Kerasma—a renowned producer of traditional Pasteli and Captain House Cafe, a wonderful restaurant operating inside a perfectly preserved Medieval Captain’s House. This human-centered approach bridged the gap between technology and tradition, ensuring tourism delivers tangible benefits to the community.
Our Treasure Hunt was purposefully designed to spotlight local enterprises and skilled craftspeople, promoting their products and services while contributing to sustainable economic growth and the preservation of cultural heritage.
