Investing in Our Future: Launching the HyPro4ST E-Learning Platform

On Monday, 3 November, This is Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau gathered with partners and tourism stakeholders at the Serafio City of Athens complex for the official presentation of the HyPro4ST e-learning platform.

Organised in collaboration with the Sustainable City network, the event highlighted this new initiative for the tourism sector. Mr. Ioannis Georgizas, Develop Athens CEO, welcomed the attendees, emphasising the critical importance of continuous professional development. He spoke about the opportunity this project offers to upgrade the skills of local professionals, ensuring Athens remains a competitive and sustainable destination.

The informative session was followed by a networking cocktail reception, organised with the professional support of ProAv and Aria Fine Catering, allowing partners to connect and discuss the future of our work together.

About the HyPro4ST Project

The "Sustainable Tourism Innovation Through Hybrid Project Management (HyPro4ST)" is a three-year project co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme (KA2: Cooperation Among Organisations and Institutions – Alliances for Innovation).

Its primary objective is to support project management capabilities within the sector, while contributing to the development of the digital, green, entrepreneurial, and creative skills of current and future professionals. The project focuses on establishing the new role of the "Sustainable and Hybrid Project Manager".

Furthermore, HyPro4ST promotes the upskilling of higher education and vocational trainers in advanced methods of sustainable and digital entrepreneurship. This is achieved through the design, development, and delivery of modular vocational curricula based on micro-learning methodologies.

Key Deliverables and Educational Material

Within the framework of the project, several useful resources have been created and are now available, alongside a detailed Labour Market Needs Report:

• Professional Profile: A defined profile for the "Sustainable Hybrid Project Manager for the Sustainable Tourism Sector," outlining the professional responsibilities, daily tasks, and the soft and technical skills required to support  this role.
• HyPro4ST Educational Material (Vocational Open Online Course - VOOC): A complete training package including a handbook, course catalogue, educational activities, and assessments. The material is available in both printable format and via the educational platform.

The course curriculum covers six pivotal modules:

Certification Opportunities

Upon completion of the educational modules, trainees have the opportunity to undertake examinations for certification by TÜV Austria. This "Certification of Achievement" is aligned with ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standards (Certification of Persons) and is valid for five years, offering a recognised professional credential.
