Expanding Global Reach at IMEX Frankfurt 2026
From 19 to 21 May, our team attended IMEX Frankfurt 2026, one of the defining trade exhibitions for the international business events sector. Operating as a co-exhibitor within the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) pavilion, we connected directly with global meeting professionals and MICE company representatives to advance Athens' position as a highly capable host city.
Targeted B2B Engagements
Direct contact with international decision-makers is central to our market strategy. Throughout the three-day exhibition, our executives conducted over 60 pre-scheduled B2B meetings. Alongside this, as part of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) delegation, This is Athens CVB delivered focused group presentations detailing the city’s expanding meetings and events infrastructure to buyers from key target markets, including Turkey and Poland. This structured matchmaking approach enables us to present practical, tailored solutions to international event organisers.
Strengthening Industry Connections
Our firsthand engagement helps build lasting relationships across the sector. Working through the Greek Meetings Alliance, we co-hosted a dedicated networking cocktail in collaboration with the GNTO. This gathering provided an excellent setting for planners and suppliers to discuss upcoming events over authentic Greek flavours and spirits
The This is Athens CVB also participated in various meetings, workshops, and social events, including the ICCA Mediterranean Chapter meeting and social gatherings hosted by ICCAWorld and IAPCO at #IMEX26, further expanding its global network of partners.
We continue to keep the destination visible and competitive in major international fora supporting the local meetings industry by actively positioning Athens in front of global buyers.
