Engaging European Buyers at the 6th Connect Tourism & Travel Event | Thessaloniki
From 26 to 28 April 2026, our team attended the 6th Connect Tourism & Travel Event in Thessaloniki. Organised by the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau in cooperation with the Region of Central Macedonia, the forum provided a structured environment for B2B networking and market expansion.
Targeted B2B Meetings
Direct contact with international planners is central to our strategy for Athens. Over the course of the event, we held 25 pre-scheduled B2B meetings. This allowed us to present the city’s meeting infrastructure and services directly to targeted buyers from France, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
Strengthening the Greek Meetings Sector
The 2026 edition of Connect hosted over 65 business representatives from 13 countries and facilitated more than 500 professional appointments. To provide a complete picture of the destination, the programme also featured site tours and culinary experiences across Central Macedonia.
Speaking on the event's wider impact, Thessaloniki Convention Bureau President, Prodromos Monastiridis, noted that the platform builds bridges with international markets and creates a competitive environment where tourism delivers tangible value. Participating in such Travel Events supports our shared goal of advancing Greece as a highly capable destination for international events.
Consistent market engagement ensures our destination remains visible to global decision-makers. To understand how we connect local professionals with international buyers, we invite you to explore our membership network and current initiatives.
