CONVIN SA: Global Experts meet in Athens for more precise, patient-centered therapies in autoimmune care

On 11–12 October 2025, the 2nd Meeting on Systemic Autoimmune Diseases & Inflammation convened at the Golden Age Hotel in Athens under the title “Unmet Clinical Needs Guide Clinical, Translational and Basic Research,” positioning itself as a nexus for cross-disciplinary breakthroughs in systemic autoimmunity. Organized by CONVIN SA, the meeting drew a diverse international faculty spanning rheumatology, immunology, molecular biology, and computational science. Over dozens of presentations, the program spanned disease domains, from scleroderma to vasculitis, myositis to Sjögren’s, and wove in frontier topics such as multi-omics, immune metabolism, regulatory B cell networks, and the role of neutrophils and extracellular traps. In particular, the plenary on relapse prediction in ANCA-associated vasculitis and sessions on ectopic lymphoid structures underscored the conference’s goal: to move beyond descriptive immunology toward precise, prognostic, and targetable biology.

A key highlight was the dynamic “Work in Progress” session, where researchers presented emerging data, including the use of deep learning to interpret salivary gland biopsies in Sjögren’s disease. The fusion of bench-to-bedside insight, mentorship, and interdisciplinary exchange positioned this meeting as fertile ground for future translational breakthroughs, bridging the gap between fundamental research and tangible clinical benefit.

In an era where autoimmune diseases touch millions of lives worldwide, often shaping patients’ everyday experiences with chronic pain, fatigue, and systemic complications, gatherings like this meeting are more than scientific milestones. They are catalysts for empathy, innovation, and hope. By fostering collaboration across disciplines, this 2nd Meeting contributes to redefining how we diagnose, treat, and ultimately prevent these complex conditions.

CONVIN SA, as the organizing partner, is proud to have supported the operational excellence of this event and also its deeper mission: to advance science that uplifts society. Through its commitment to empowering knowledge exchange and cultivating meaningful dialogue among experts, CONVIN continues to stand behind initiatives that drive progress, compassion, and societal well-being.
