Springtime at Erasmus: reflecting on past accomplishments, embracing hopeful visions for the future

Trusted as a long-term partner

Appointment as the Association Management and core Professional Congress Organizer for the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS)
ERASMUS Conferences & Events S.A. (ERASMUS), a wholly owned Greek company headquartered in Athens, Greece, has been chosen by the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS) to handle its Association Management and core Professional Congress Organizing services effective January 1st, 2024, for a duration of 5 years. This selection underscores the exemplary dedication, expertise, and proficiency of the ERASMUS team, as evidenced by our successful management of previous ad-hoc assignments for ISOLS in 2019 and 2022. This appointment also serves as a validation of ERASMUS's strategic decision made 15 years ago amidst a challenging global financial landscape. At that time, ERASMUS boldly expanded its operations internationally, undertaking direct pitches for international business opportunities, all of which are meticulously organized and executed in-house.

In Singapore and Naples for IFNE activities
After four years of “absence”, due to the pandemic, the 10th edition of the biennial IFNE World Congress was organized in November 2023 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, by ERASMUS as part of the Association Management and core PCO services offered by our company to the Federation. The congress served as a platform for the introduction and presentation of cutting-edge advancements in neuroendoscopy, achieving considerable success in showcasing these innovations and Singapore’s allure combined with the academic and professional prowess showcased during the event made the experience both enriching and unforgettable. For ERASMUS, this endeavor proved highly fulfilling, demonstrating the importance of resilience while generating fresh perspectives and broadening the scope of destinations within our project portfolio on a global scale. Moreover, ERASMUS kicked off the 2024 season with great momentum by orchestrating a successful 2024 IFNE-JSNE-GLEN-NESI-CSNE Hands-on Workshop on Cerebrovascular and Skull Neuronendoscopy in Naples, Italy.

Supporting the European Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery
With great pride and a high sense of responsibility, ERASMUS continues for a 14th consecutive year to offer dedicated services to the European Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN) as an Association Management and core PCO provider. ESPN’s activities for 2024, organizationally supported by ERASMUS, kicked off with the ESPN 2024 Consensus Conference and the 6th Refresher Course, in Lyon and will continue with the ESPN Course in Sibiu, Romania, in May while preparations are already underway for the biennial ESPN Congress which will take place in London, in May 2025.

Respiratory Primary Care in the forefront
Athens is preparing to welcome the global primary care community for the 12th IPCRG World Conference in May 2024 and ERASMUS is fully committed to ensuring the seamless orchestration of all organizational and logistical elements for this significant event. Following a successful collaboration on the IPCRG Research meeting in Munich in 2023, ERASMUS remains dedicated to providing its exceptional professional services as the Professional Conference Organizer (PCO) for IPCRG’s World Conference in 2024 but also for the Group’s events in 2025 and 2026, as a core-PCO.

Beyond healthcare projects

In 2024 ERASMUS has expanded its project portfolio to include several new disciplines, many of which extend beyond the realm of healthcare events. To name but a few, in 2024 Erasmus is the provider of professional congress organizing services to the Council of Europe for its EQUIROM series of events in Greece, to the European Legal Interpreters Association for their 2024 conference in Athens, to the International Welding and Joining Community for the 77th IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference on Welding and Joining in Rhodes, in July, to the European Seismology Commission for their 39th General Assembly in Corfu, in September, to the International Commission for Alpine Rescue for their Annual Congress in Thessaloniki and to the international Production Designers Gathering for their meeting in Spetses, following the resounding success of its first edition, organized by ERASMUS in the same location in 2022.

Team alignment and professional development are key

ERASMUS leadership is dedicated to enriching the professional journey of its staff by providing meaningful, educational, and motivational experiences, thereby enhancing the delivery of our successful professional services.

Thus, the 2024 ERASMUS kick-off meeting & fam trip unfolded in the region of Thrace in January, suggesting a diverse and engaging start, fostering collaboration and exchange in the team.

Following that, ERASMUS was delighted to engage in the 13th Annual Conference hosted by the Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organisers and Destination Event Specialists, HAPCO & DES, in Thessaloniki, Greece, attending engaging presentations on forward-thinking themes, educational trends, and the significance of conference tourism in Greece and enjoying some face-to-face interactions with peers and partners.

In late February, a 3-member delegation from ERASMUS travelled to the 2024 IAPCO Annual Meeting and General Assembly in Ljubljana, Slovenia coming together with PCO professionals from around the world and enabling us to learn from industry leaders, share insights, and explore emerging trends. Among other highlights, our team members were thrilled to be present in the official announcement of Athens as the host city of the 2026 IAPCO Annual Meeting, a success of the joint initiative between 4 Greek PCOS (ERASMUS among them) and the ACVB.
