REUNITING FOR A RESPONSIBLE FUTURE OF TOURISM: Green Destinations 2022 & Future of Tourism Summit are taking place in Athens this fall.

"After 2 years of online conferences, we can’t wait to celebrate our annual flagship event in person again and look forward to welcoming you to this inspiring event.

This year’s conference will take place from 26th to 29th September and is hosted by the City of Athens at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel, in Athens. This allows us to come together in a unique setting and discuss ways towards a responsible future of tourism. We are excited to explore this diverse and historic destination and beyond with you through several field trip options after the conference on 30th September and 1st October.

We are excited to collaborate with the Future of Tourism Coalition, who will complement the conference with the Future of Tourism Summit on 29 September. This day will bring destinations, communities and the travel industry together in the pursuit of climate resilience and climate action.

Just like our previous ‘Global Green Destinations Days’, the event will connect sustainability professionals, destinations, and tourism boards through good practices to support peer-to-peer learning and discover initiatives, practical tools, and solutions for sustainable tourism destinations.

This year we aim to hold exciting panel discussions, hear inspiring stories of good practice, get creative in joint workshops and – as every year – celebrate our certified and awarded destinations and reveal the 2022 Top 100 Sustainability Stories.
