CineFIX November 2025
CineFIX returns to EMST this autumn with a new season of screenings running from November to January in the Museum’s Mezzanine Screening Room. Building on the momentum of its summer rooftop cinema, the series brings together artists’ films, documentaries and moving image works that reflect on nature, identity and the shifting boundaries between human and non human life. Tickets are kept accessible, and pre sale closes on the day of each screening at 5 pm.
The November programme opens with one of Bill Viola’s most celebrated works and continues with a double screening by Irish artist Bryony Dunne, presented as part of the exhibition Why Look at Animals? A Case for the Rights of Non Human Lives.
Programme for Thursday 27 November | 8 pm
Myth, Migration, Metamorphosis: Two films by Bryony Dunne
Introduced by EMST curator Daphne Vitali.
Killing the Messenger (2020, 11 minutes)
Filmed on Antikythera, the work links ancient divination practices to contemporary ornithological research, showing migratory birds as indicators of environmental change.
Surrender Your Horns (2022, 60 minutes)
A hybrid documentary where myth, desire and ecological anxiety converge through the surreal transformation of an isolated man who becomes both hunter and hunted.
