Athens Palestine Film Festival at Onassis Stegi
How do the stories we inherit shape who we are today? Now in its fifth year, the Athens Palestine Film Festival culminates its city-wide programme with an intense, three-day sequence of screenings, discussions, and live performances hosted at Onassis Stegi. Located on Syngrou Avenue, Onassis Stegi is one of Athens' foremost contemporary cultural venues, renowned for hosting cutting-edge theatre, music, digital art, and bold international festivals.
Curated by festival director and Onassis AiR Fellow Carol Sansour under the motto "Nothing comes from nothing," this year's lineup dives deep into archival memory and personal histories. Highlights on the Upper Stage include Larissa Sansour and Søren Lind’s A Sunken Tale of Losses Delayed, Amal Ramsis’ moving documentary You Come from Far Away, and Elia Suleiman’s satirical masterpiece Chronicle of a Disappearance. Don't miss Friday's talk by Palestinian Museum director Amer Shomali on colonial museum fictions, or Saturday's closing night performance where Carol Sansour joins Greek musical duo the Kalogeraki Brothers to fuse Arabic poetry with original song—followed by a late-night DJ set in the ground-floor foyer.
