Christmas Market at Kotzia Square

This holiday season, the City of Athens is weaving the threads of Christmas cheer together with all of us, as a citywide celebration unfolds across the city. Iconic squares and landmarks glow with energy-saving lights, while neighbourhood corners join the festive buzz. Expect a full line-up of free events for every age and taste, from Christmas-themed concerts and outdoor film nights to children’s workshops and much more.

From Saturday 20th December to Tuesday 6th January, the city welcomes its very own Christmas Market, transforming Kotzia Square into one of the brightest and happiest spots in the heart of Athens.

In traditionally decorated wooden huts, you’ll find a delightful mix of sweet and savoury treats, drinks, and gift ideas. Meanwhile, at the Kids Corner, children can enjoy free creative workshops and festive activities. Plus, an entire day is dedicated to the little ones, with a special family festival at the Christmas Market. All of this is crowned by a stunning carousel in the centre of the market.

Music takes centre stage, with melodies from local radio stations and DJ sets filling the market from the Music Corner, creating a joyful atmosphere throughout.

Athens' main concert stage this year is set up in Kotzia Square, ready to host some of the city’s favourite live performers: Kids Radio Banda, Billie Kark, Nefeli Fasouli, and the explosive Athens All Star Party, featuring Street Outdoors Soundsystem, Yucatan, Deerislnd, and Tropical. Together, they’ll turn the Christmas Market into the biggest dance floor of the holiday season.
