Yiannis Niarros & NYX: 2B – Abduction and Observation
Yiannis Niarros has quickly become one of the sharpest and most energetic creators working on the Greek stage, jumping effortlessly between acting, directing, and live music. In 2B – Abduction and Observation, made in partnership with theatre team NYX, he uses a classic sci-fi trope, a.k.a. alien abduction, to deliver a biting look at everyday city life, modern work routines, and the feeling of being constantly watched.
The production strikes a tricky balance: it is packed with dark laughs, razor-sharp dialogue, and dynamic original songs, but it never loses sight of the loneliness and friction that come with living in a modern metropolis. With a run carrying all the way through late spring, it is one of the season’s most inventive local productions, bringing an offbeat, late-night comic energy that cuts through typical stage conventions.
