Music Technopolis

Officially, September marks the start of autumn, but in Athens the legendary summer has a habit of lingering. Warm evenings, open-air concerts and life lived outdoors continue well into the month, making it one of the city's best times to enjoy live music. Music Technopolis embraces that spirit with a packed programme of 16 nights of performances, proving that festival season is far from over.

The programme brings together anniversary concerts, much-loved artists and lively festivals, offering an excellent opportunity to experience the breadth of Greece's contemporary music scene alongside international sounds. Whether you're curious to discover local acts or already have a favourite, there's something happening almost every night.

Highlights include a traditional Cretan feast of music with Grigoris Samolis (2 September), Leonidas Balafas celebrating 20 years in music (3 September), and a unique audience-led concert by Spyros Grammenos, joined by some of Greece's best-loved stand-up comedians (4 September). K-pop fans can catch K-POP FEVER on 5 and 8 September, while the ever-popular Skiadareses return after their sold-out summer appearance on 7 September.

Rock and alternative music take centre stage throughout the month, with Hat Trick and Fundracar (9 September), Hatzifragketa (10 September), the two-day Rock Hard Festival (11-12 September), Rationalistas (14 September), the 40th anniversary concert of legendary punk band Mora sti Fotia (16 September), and Nightstalker's special 30th anniversary performance celebrating their landmark album USE (18 September).

Traditional music also has its place, with the one-day RIZES FEST on 19 September, while the season concludes in style on 20 September with one of Greece's most recognisable performers, Giorgos Mazonakis, bringing this year's Music Technopolis programme to a memorable close.

Throughout the concert series, visitors are also invited to support the city's social pharmacy by donating unopened medicines and essential first-aid items, helping local residents in need while enjoying one of Athens' biggest end-of-summer music programmes.
