TiACF26: Connect Athens: All Day Street Festival
This May, TiACF2026 returns to prove that the best bits of the city aren't always on the mainstream maps. We’re moving beyond the landmarks and diving headfirst into the heartbeat of our neighbourhoods. From 1 May to 31 May, the city transforms into a living, breathing stage where you can anticipate lived experiences that often blur the lines between art and daily life. We’re taking over the spots you walk past every day: the quiet neighbourhood squares, the courtyards in "off-grid" districts, and the sun-drenched rooftops and backstreets only locals know how to find. With over 300 free events, this isn't just a festival happening in Athens; it’s a festival made by the city, for the city. It’s your festival. Check out our curated selection or go to the official TiACF26 website to see what's on throughout May.
One of the city's most beloved pedestrian strips, Fokionos Negri, transforms into a vibrant hub for the second edition of the Connect Athens Festival. This all-day celebration serves as the practical, high-energy conclusion to the "Building Bridges for the Mental Health of At-Risk Youth" forum held the previous day (22 May) at the City of Athens Cultural Centre. While the Friday forum focuses on policy and dialogue, the Saturday street festival brings those ideas to life through shared experiences and communal joy.
Under the inclusive motto #bringyourgrandma, you can dive into a programme designed to bridge the gap between generations. The day features empathy-building activities, street theatre, and global dance performances alongside original AI workshops inspired by the memories of the city's elders. You can also listen to influencers and public figures sharing stories of resilience in an open forum before the evening shifts into a massive party. With multicultural bands and DJs providing the soundtrack, the event proves that mental well-being and social acceptance are best cultivated in the heart of a supportive community.
