Pestilence
Dutch death metal veterans Pestilence return to Athens this autumn, bringing four decades of technical aggression to the Kyttaro stage. While the band is touring their tenth studio album, Portals, the draw for many locals will be the formidable supporting line-up. Dead Congregation, arguably Greece’s most influential extreme metal export, join the bill alongside old school purists Abyssus. It is a dense three band billing that leans heavily into the darker, more atmospheric side of the genre, effectively turning a standard concert into a focused gathering for the city's underground community.
The event is scheduled to last approximately four hours and is a standing only show. Kyttaro is one of the city’s most historic live spaces, and given the cult status of the local support acts, it is worth arriving early to catch the full progression of the night.
