Sir Don McCullin: Life, Death and Everything in Between
For the first time in Greece, Sir Don McCullin presents a powerful photographic exhibition at Technopolis City of Athens. Curated by Athens Photo World in collaboration with the Xposure International Photography Festival, the exhibition brings together 47 carefully selected images from McCullin’s landmark body of work, tracing the fragile line between conflict, labour, survival and human dignity.
From war zones in Vietnam, Cambodia and Lebanon to scenes of poverty and working life in Britain, McCullin’s photographs do not document history from a distance. They confront it directly, with compassion and unflinching honesty. Shown in Athens, a city shaped by memory, struggle and resilience, the images speak with renewed urgency, reminding visitors that these moments are not only part of the past, but continue to echo into the present.
A special opening evening on Saturday, 28 February includes a public talk with Sir Don McCullin, offering a rare opportunity to hear the voice behind some of the most recognisable images of the twentieth century.
