14th Athens Half Marathon

If you fancy tasting the spirit of the Athens Marathon, this March, the Athens Half Marathon invites you to experience the Greek capital at full stride. Now in its 14th edition, this much-loved event is set to welcome 25,000 participants from Greece and around the world. Less famous than its legendary “big brother”, the Athens Marathon, this race is nevertheless a major fixture on the city’s sporting calendar. Its route is packed with landmarks, each telling a chapter of Athens’ remarkable story.

From ancient heritage to modern city life, you’ll run straight through the heart of the capital. Expect an electric atmosphere as you pass the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Byzantine and Christian Museum, and some of Athens’ grandest central avenues. Despite the historic setting, the course remains fast and runner-friendly.

Not quite ready for the full 21.097 km? There are distances for everyone: the Half Marathon, 5 km, or Family Run. It’s the perfect way to experience Athens, trainers on, without taking on the full 42 km challenge.
