If you were around in 2014 then you are familiar with the tango-noir hit, My Love, which brought Kovacs to the top of the charts. From the Netherlands to the world, her music brings blues to the foreground, mixing ‘60s nostalgia with today’s pop aesthetics. But don’t think lighthearted lyrics and melodies; Conveying leitmotivs of pain, abuse and family dysfunction her work is sung in a powerful voice that echoes Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse. Kovacs returns to Athens, at Fuzz Club, for a single show, just in time for the autumn blues.
