Grandmaster Flash DJ Set at SNFCC
If there ever was an artist that stood for a whole music genre, it is Grandmaster Flash for hip hop. Starting from the 70s and his block parties when he used to steal electricity off street lights to power his setup—while introducing the world to the art of "cutting the break", a technique of looping and scratching on vinyl records—the 60 year-old pioneer has come a long way. His Hip Hop People, Places & Things: The Visual Experience tour is more than just DJ set performances; it's a tribute to history's last genuinely revolutionary music genre and Athens is lucky to be involved. The legendary artist is dropping by the SNFCC for a free admission event that is not to be missed.
