News of The Cure going on the road again brought smiles to millions of fans back in 2015. Since then the British band, led by the unmatched Robert Smith, have performed all over the world—often with marathon 3-4 hours concerts, showing young bands how it's done. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Athens' Ejekt Festival managed to snatch the goth-punk pioneers—who are also celebrating 40 years of discography—as the headline act of a great line-up. On July 17, they will perform along with nu-soul rising star Michael Kiwanuka, shoegaze legends Ride, world funk sensation Khruangbin and local psych-rockers The Steams. The day starts at 16:00 under the bright Athenian sun at the open-air venue of Water Plaza, so come prepared.
