What We Are Up to

From October 15 to 18, members of the This is Athens team will head to Bruges to attend the CityDNA Autumn Conference and the Global Destination Sustainability Movement Forum. Valia Dalla, Membership Manager, and Tina Toribaba, Public Relations Manager, will meet industry leaders and share insights on urban tourism trends and challenges in Europe. See more

Natasha Kefala, International Meetings Manager, and Maria Papadopoulou, Business Development Manager, will be in Abu Dhabi for the 63rd ICCA Congress from October 20-23, 2024. This gathering of international meetings and events specialists will foster discussions, idea-sharing, and fresh inspirations for advancing the business events industry.  See more

To enhance business connections with Asian markets, Natasha Kefala, International Meetings Manager, will be at MICE Show Asia in Singapore from October 23-25. She will engage with industry leaders and participate in the MICE Leaders’ Panel, discussing strategies for transformative excellence in the MICE ecosystem. See more

Spyridon Kagkas, Digital & Community Manager for This is Athens, will be heading to Osaka, Japan, from October 23-26 for the inaugural IGLTA Global Convention in Asia. He aims to gain valuable insights into LGBTQ+ tourism trends and promote Athens as an inclusive destination. See more

Talk of the Town

From October 1 to 4, the vibrant Greek audiovisual ecosystem engaged with its international counterparts during The Owl, an exciting four-day workshop and industry event organized by the Athens Film Office featuring presentations, discussions, and panels focused on Greek fiction productions. See more

This October, the City of Athens commemorates two significant anniversaries: 80 years since liberation from Nazi occupation in 1944 and 50 years since the restoration of democracy in 1974. Among the many events, the art exhibition The Restoration of Optimism stands out as a highlight, showcasing our city’s resilience and creativity. See more

The Athens Cycling Tour returns on the 20th of October. Choose between the classic 7 km course or challenge yourself with the thrilling 16 km route. Both routes start and finish at Syntagma Square, giving you a fantastic chance to discover the city on wheels. Register here

A master of monumental sculpture, Henry Moore developed a fascination with ancient Greece. Gagosian Athens presents an exhibition showcasing Moore's career evolution from early stone and wood carvings to works influenced by classical sculpture. See more
