Is there a fee for the service?
“This is My Athens” greeter program is Free! The Athens Locals are volunteers and do not accept tips.
What do we do about transportation fees and who pays for food and drink?
Every one pays their own way. That goes for all situations, including transportation, food and drinks and entrance fees to museums and or sites, for example.
What if I am running late to meet the Athens Local?
Please call the Athens Local and or main office (ATEDCO) and let us know how long you will be delayed. If you are late more than half an hour, the Athens Local has the right to cancel the visit.
Something has come up, may I reschedule my “This is My Athens” visit?
Contact us and we will do our best to reschedule, again, based on availability.
I had a great experience! I would love to donate to the program. Do you accept donations?

The “This is My Athens” team will review your application and do their best to match you with an Athens Local based on the criteria (neighbourhood, language etc…) and availability.
Is there a limit to how many “This is My Athens” Athens Locals walks I can enjoy?
No, however, priority is given to new applicants.

Our group is more than six. May we sign up in many groups?
“This is My Athens” is designed to serve individuals and small groups of 6 or less who are not part of an official tour group.
How are the Athens Locals volunteers selected?
All volunteers apply online and are then selected after being interviewed by the “This is My Athens” team at our headquarters at ATEDCO.
